| Immunoglobulin
class : |
IgG1,

|
| Immunologic
specificity : |
The
antibody is an internal image of okadaic acid. In ELISA, it inhibits the
binding of both okadaic acid to solid-phase bound F(ab')2 fragments of
anti-OA monoclonal antibody 6/50-26 and 6/50 IgG to solid-phase bound OA.
It also induces production of okadaic acid binding Ab3 antibodies in
Balb/c mice and inhibits the catalytic subunits of serine-threonine
protein phosphatases PP1 and PP2A.
|
| Cross-reactivity
: |
It
does not cross-react with F(ab')2 fragments from normal mouse pooled serum
IgG in ELISA.
|
| Use
: Basic research. |
May
be used as a surrogate of okadaic acid in certain functional assays such
as inhibition of protein phosphatases PP1/PP2 or in ELISA for quantitation
of okadaic acid. When bound to a solid support (e.g. CNBr activated
Sepharose 4B) it can be used for purification of protein phosphastases
PP1/PP2.

| Stability
: |
When
reconstituted in aqueous solution IgG, remains stable for six months if
stored at 4oC. No considerable loss of activity was detected
when stored at -20oC over a period of one year.
