antibody was obtained from the polyethylene glycol fusion of non-secreting
mouse myeloma (P3X63.Ag8.653) cells with popliteal lymph node lymphocytes
from BALB/c mice immunized with the anti-CEA monoclonal antibody C234
mAb.

culture derived antibody was precipitated with ammonium sulfate and
affinity chromatographed on CNBr-activated Separose 4B-C234
mAb.

mAb is specific fot the immunizing idiotope of C234 mAb. It
binds C234 mAb at the CEA binding site since :
(a) it inhibits the binding of CEA to C234 mAb as well as,
(b) C234 binding to CEA in ELISA.
Binding of L12E2 to its corresponding C234
could be inhibited by CEA.
